A recording in Russian is only as useful as the transcript someone can read, and a transcript is only as good as the ear that made it. We transcribe Russian audio and video recordings of every kind, from a crisp studio interview to a telephone call recorded in a moving car, and translate them into English, or the other way round, with time codes and speaker identification where the material calls for it.
Much of this work comes from law firms, investigators and government agencies: recorded statements, depositions, surveillance and intercepted calls, body-camera footage, voicemail and social media video, where the transcript may end up as an exhibit and has to stand up to challenge. For those clients we produce a verbatim transcript in the original language alongside the translation, note every inaudible passage honestly rather than guess, and certify the result. The rest comes from researchers, broadcasters and companies: oral-history interviews, focus groups, conference recordings, training videos and corporate films that need an English script or Russian subtitles. For subtitling we deliver in SRT or the format your editor uses, timed and ready to load.
Transcription and translation are quoted by the audio minute, with the rate depending on sound quality, the number of speakers and whether a verbatim or a clean-read transcript is required; a short sample lets us give a firm price. Turnaround for an hour of ordinary recording is usually two to three business days. Send us the file, or a few minutes of it, and tell us what the transcript is for, and we will quote the job.
