Terms of Use - Russian Interpreters Network

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at www.russian-interpreter.org and its Russian-language companion site at www.russiansite.net (together, the "Site"). The Site is operated by Russian Interpreters Network ("RIN", "we", "us" or "our"), a provider of Russian–English interpretation and translation services based in Houston, Texas, United States. By accessing or using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Nature of the Site

The Site is an informational website that describes our services, publishes general rate information, and lets you contact us to request a quote. The Site does not sell goods or services online, does not process payments, and does not require or offer user accounts. Nothing on the Site creates a contract for services; see Section 3.

2. Eligibility

The Site is intended for use by adults. If you are under 18, you may use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, and you may not submit a service request on your own behalf.

3. Service requests, quotes and engagements

Rates, minimums, surcharges and other figures shown on the Site are provided for general orientation only. They are not an offer and may change at any time without notice. Every assignment is quoted individually. A binding engagement arises only when we issue a written quote or estimate and you accept it in writing, or when we sign a separate service agreement with you. The terms of that quote or agreement, including deposit, payment, travel, cancellation and refund provisions, govern the engagement and take precedence over anything on the Site. Submitting a request through the Site does not reserve an interpreter or a date.

4. Communications through the Site

When you use the contact form or email us, you consent to receive replies by email or telephone at the contact details you provide. Ordinary email and web forms are not secure channels. Please do not send us confidential, privileged or sensitive documents until we have agreed on an engagement and, where appropriate, a secure method of transfer. We may treat unsolicited material sent before an engagement as non-confidential, except as required by law or by a confidentiality agreement signed by us.

5. Intellectual property

The Site and its contents, including text, photographs, graphics, logos, page design and the compilation of these elements, are owned by RIN or used under license and are protected by United States and international copyright and trademark laws. The names Russian Interpreters Network and Russian Interpreter Network and the associated logo are trademarks of RIN. Client names and logos shown on the Site belong to their respective owners and are displayed solely to identify organizations we have served; their display does not imply endorsement.

You may view, download and print pages of the Site for your personal or internal business use in evaluating our services. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, publicly display, frame, scrape or create derivative works from the Site or any part of it for any other purpose without our prior written permission.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Site in any way that violates applicable law; to probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Site or the systems hosting it, or to attempt to gain unauthorized access to them; to introduce malicious code; to use automated means to harvest content or contact details from the Site; to submit false, misleading or abusive information through the contact form; or to interfere with the Site's operation or with any other person's use of it.

7. Third-party links and embedded content

The Site contains links to third-party websites and embeds video hosted by third parties. Those sites and services are not under our control. We provide the links for convenience only and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices or availability, and a link does not imply our endorsement. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their own terms.

8. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information through the Site is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and its contents are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, RIN disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement, and any warranty that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or free of harmful components. Information on the Site may contain inaccuracies or typographical errors and may be out of date; we may change it at any time without notice. The Site does not provide legal, medical or other professional advice, and general statements about interpretation or translation practice are not advice for your specific situation.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RIN and its members, officers, employees, contractors and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred United States dollars (US $100). Liability relating to interpretation or translation services we actually perform is governed by the applicable quote or service agreement, not by this Section. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RIN and its members, officers, employees, contractors and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

12. Governing law and venue

These Terms and any dispute relating to the Site are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, for any such dispute, and you waive any objection to venue there. Nothing in this Section limits any mandatory consumer protections available to you under the law of your place of residence.

13. Changes to the Site and to these Terms

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time. We may also revise these Terms from time to time by posting the revised version on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Site after a revision is posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. General

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force, and the unenforceable provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and RIN regarding use of the Site; they do not govern any services engagement, which is subject to its own written terms. These Terms are written in English; the Russian version published on www.russiansite.net is a translation provided for convenience, and in the event of a conflict the English version controls.
