Every document in a U.S. immigration file that is not in English must be accompanied by a full English translation and a signed certification by the translator that the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent to make it. That is the whole of the USCIS rule, and it is simpler than the internet makes it sound: no notarization is required, no "sworn" translator exists in American practice, and an apostille applies to the original document, not to the translation. What the officer does expect is a translation that mirrors the original line by line, stamps and seals included, so that the file reads cleanly.
We have translated and certified thousands of such documents since 1995: birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates, passports and internal passports, diplomas and transcripts with their supplements, military records, police clearance certificates, employment records, medical records and court orders, from Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, Kazakh and the other languages of the former Soviet Union in which these documents are issued. Each translation comes with our certification on letterhead, and we keep a copy so that a replacement can be issued if the original is lost.
The rate is $50 per document of up to two pages and $25 for each additional page, with most orders completed within two business days; same-day service is available when a deadline requires it. Scan or photograph the documents and email them to us, tell us how you would like to receive the translations, by email as PDF or on paper by mail, and we will confirm the price and the delivery date by return.
