A trade show interpreter works on his feet for eight hours, switches between a distributor from Kazakhstan, an engineer from Minsk and a buyer from St. Petersburg without warning, and has to know your product well enough to answer the easy questions while you handle the hard ones. A training interpreter, by contrast, spends a week in a classroom or on a factory floor with the same group of trainees, rendering a technical curriculum so precisely that at the end of it the trainees pass the same certification test as their English-speaking colleagues. We staff both, and we match the person to the job.
For exhibitions we provide booth interpreters by the day, with a four-hour minimum, and we can also assign an interpreter to walk the floor with your delegation and take the meetings you have scheduled with suppliers. For training courses we provide consecutive interpreters for hands-on sessions and simultaneous interpreters with portable equipment for lectures, which keeps a five-day course from becoming a ten-day one. Our interpreters have worked training programs for aircraft and helicopter manufacturers, oil-field service companies, medical device makers and software vendors, among others, and are at ease with manuals, checklists and the vocabulary of a workshop.
Send us the training materials or the product literature ahead of time. An interpreter who has read the manual the night before is worth two who have not, and that preparation is included in our price. Tell us the dates, the city and the subject, and we will propose the right people.
